Moving Forward with Fiscal Responsibility:

  • Lowest average municipal tax increases in the capital region
  • Revised off-site levy payment scheme for new municipal land development
  • Supported a renewed and revised Arts and Heritage Foundation Stewardship Agreement

Moving Forward with Environmental Sustainability:

  • Revised municipal waste collection process with organic recycling
  • Upgraded St. Albert recycling depot to accept household hazardous waste
  • Two new Sturgeon River grit interceptor with funded plan to complete all storm water outfalls

Moving Forward with Senior’s and Affordable Housing:

  • Restructured Sturgeon Foundation focused on financial accountability and customer service
  • Aurora Place – Habitat for Humanity Build – under construction and largely complete
  • Big Lake Point – construction complete – increased affordable housing units through support of the St. Albert Housing Society

  • Costco commercial development under construction
  • Designated “Employment Lands” for future light industrial/commercial/institutional development
  • Commercial and Residential plan established for former Hole’s Greenhouse site
  • Completed Phase III of Ray Gibbon Drive – fully recovering promised provincial funding

Moving Forward with Business Focused Civic Administration:

  • Engaged a new City Manager focused on economic development and tight fiscal control
  • Positioned St. Albert to successfully recruit new business by establishing the Economic Development Department
  • Enhanced St. Albert`s civic internet outreach program through support of a renewed web presence

Moving Forward St. Albert`s Quality of Life:

  • Supported St. Albert Trail beautification efforts and enhancements
  • Championed the CN Train Whistle Cessation Program
  • Established the Grey Nuns White Spruce Forest Park
  • Established medical handi-bus service to Edmonton for disabled transit users
  • Celebrated St. Albert`s unique and powerful civic culture of volunteerism
  • Supported St. Albert`s military community through engagement with the Edmonton Salutes committee
