Let’s Talk About Covid-19

Since March of 2020, the world has suffered with a vicious communicable disease named COVID-19.  St. Albert has not escaped the ravages of this disease and while there have been advances in the prevention and treatment of COVID, the impact of this contagion continues. After careful consideration, here is my position on COVID-19 restrictions.

As a Councillor, I have been the recipient of many, many emails imploring me to cast my vote either in support of social restrictions – to protect lives – or in opposition to social restrictions – to preserve personal choice and freedoms.  Both sides of the argument have sent me “scientific” sources produced by “experts” in a particular field supporting the premises of their philosophical positions.

After careful consideration, here is my position on COVID-19 restrictions:

  • All human life is sacred and worth preserving whatever the cost
  • I believe the elected government of our country and province fundamentally desire the very best for our community, province, and nation
  • I believe the elected government of our country and province and the professionals that support them do the hard work to study all sources of knowledge to arrive at the best decisions for Canadian society
  • I believe that our personal sacrifices are necessary to protect the health and welfare of all citizens – because each life is worthy!
  • I will pursue and advocate for the earliest possible removal of all restrictions once it is appropriate to do so

For the love of your family and community – Please get vaccinated!
