St. Albert Places of Growth

Hi, my name is Wes Brodhead and I seek your support to be reelected to St. Albert City Council on October 18th.

St. Albert is a larger city of close to 70,000 residents yet is uniquely known as a City that has retained a small town feel. I’ve spoken of St. Albert’s places of community. I also believe that St. Albert has retained its sense of close community through what I am choosing to call it’s places of growth.

A truism that is relevant to cities of every size and shape is that if the city is not growing in some sense, it is in reality, beginning to die. We have seen this in communities that were formed around a specific industry, and when that work opportunity ceased, so did the life of the community. This truism is also evident in some large cities who have not fostered the life of their downtown core.

St. Albert is a growing community with energy and vitality, which is a consequence not only of residential and business growth, but also in its commitment to growth in a particular way. I call such examples of life, places of growth.

Friends, how St Albert grows, as evidenced by these examples of what I have chosen to call places of growth, leads to a City where residents can claim that St. Albert is a City with a small town feel.
